Located in the heart of the Golden Triangle<\/em>, in the 8th district, between Avenue Montaigne<\/em>,\u00a0Champs-Elys\u00e9es<\/em>\u00a0and Avenue George V<\/em>, the Hotel Marignan<\/em> is a true masterpiece of the contemporary style.<\/p>\n

The history of Marignan<\/em> dates back to the XVIII century when it was a private residence, it was also used as embassy once, until in 1920, when it became a Palace Hotel.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The phrase that best defines this hotel is present in the great staircase, since the XIX century, “May this house be filled with true friends<\/em>!” and it was preserved, not only the staircase, but also the motto, by the owner\u00a0Natalie Richard<\/em>, who commands the motto of this emblematic hotel since 2004.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

With the help of the architect\u00a0Pierre Yovanovitch<\/em>,\u00a0Natalie<\/em>\u00a0revitalized the hotel, respecting its history and the French architecture, but also giving it a touch of contemporary luxury.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

First Impression<\/strong>
\nI get extremely excited when I know I’ll stay in a Design Hotel, but having recently been in a travel marked (in one of the hotels) by the design of the charismatic Philippe Stark<\/em>\u00a0(see<\/a>), my expectations were quite high. Looking at photos, Marignan<\/em> seemed amazing, so my curiosity was only getting bigger as we approached the hotel.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

When we finally arrived we were welcomed by two nice employees, opening the huge dark and mirrored door that wouldn’t let us see what followed, transforming the experiece into a quite discrete and intimate moment.<\/p>\n

And when the door opened we were graced with a breathtaking lobby! A contemporary style (a similiar style to\u00a0Philippe Stark’s\u00a0<\/em>works) mixing made by measure furniture with art works and design objects, carefully combined to create a graphic style, much beyond the usual contemporary.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The staff who took care of our check-in welcomed us like we were old friends, the experience started in the most relaxed way possible, but with a typical Parisian luxury touch. From here we went to our bedroom, having the chance to walk the historical staircase, perfectly preserved, surprising us with its inscriptions.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Bedrooms<\/strong>
\nThey are 45, of five different categories, Premi\u00e8re, Deluxe, Eiffel Tower Deluxe, Prestige Deluxe, and Eiffel Tower Prestige<\/em>. And five Suites, of three types,\u00a0Prestige, Eiffeil Terrace and Marignan Eiffel<\/em>, these last two with a typically Parisian balcony, and amazing views to the Eiffel Tower.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We stayed in a Deluxe bedroom, that you could easily call an apartment! A duplex, where you could perfectly fit 4 people, there are also some Deluxe’s appropriate for sports lovers, with gym equipment in the bedroom.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The bedroom follows the decor of the hotel, contemporary with specially designed pieces, with a charm and elegance without pair, and a very fancy signature.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The bathroom is also filled with all the luxuries, great towels, bathrobes and great Guerlain products.<\/p>\n

At our disposal there’s also coffee and tea.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Restaurants\/Bars<\/strong>
\nThe hotel has two spaces, the restaurant\u00a0Nub\u00e9<\/em>, and\u00a0Le Bar<\/em>.
\nThe restaurant is headed by the young Colombian chef\u00a0Juan Arbelaez<\/em>, who brings us flavors from all around the world, mixed in a relaxed and informal environment, keeping the haute cuisine quite present. The name of the restaurant means cloud in Spanish and intends to personify the atmosphere of a “meal in the clouds”!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The decoration of the restaurant takes us to an authentic secret garden, once again by the hands of\u00a0Pierre Yovanovitch<\/em>, all of it under the suspention protection in the shape of a cloud, signed by C\u00e9line Wright<\/em>. Here is the right place to get away from the bustle of the everyday life in the city. The team has also a very important role in this experience, relaxed and joyful!<\/p>\n

The restaurant serves all the meals of the day.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As to\u00a0Le Bar<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0\u201cSimone Veille\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Bar, it is a true highlight of the hotel, and Paris, an extremely cosmopolitan environment, elegant and intimate, with signature cocktails or mocktails, ideal to a fun evening.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Services<\/strong>
\nBesides all the typical services of a luxury hotel, such as Concierge, Wi-Fi, Laundry, Room service 24\/7, Babysitter service and Private driver, Marignan<\/em> has some unique experiences.<\/p>\n

The most different probably being the elegant cinema room, with capacity for 40 people, used for several effects, either its main purpose, watching a good movie, or for conferences and congresses.<\/p>\n

Another different option for events is the\u00a0Le Bar<\/em>\u00a0or the restaurant Nub\u00e9<\/em>, or even better, one of the suites with a balcony with views to the Eiffel Tower!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Service<\/strong>
\nAs I mentioned along the article, what I liked most about Marignan’s service was the ability of the staff to be relaxed without leaving elegance aside.<\/p>\n

This is usually the rule in design hotels, in which service meets decoration, relaxed but extremely personalized and unpretentious.<\/p>\n

Bottom line, at\u00a0Marignan we feel like at our old friends vacation house, there’s sympathy, sincerity, and fun at each moment.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Marignan Hotel combines two of the things that fascinate me the most, history and art!<\/p>\n

The work of Nathalie Richard and her team is amazing, giving the place its soul back, keeping its history. The combination of a cosmopolitan environment with a contemporary style, in a building with centuries of life is brilliant.<\/p>\n

All this allied to\u00a0an attentive, dynamic and friendly staff, it’s guaranteed success!<\/p>\n
