Its aspect changed through the centuries, having supported a lot of unmerciful attacks. Walking around this charming district we realize this was once a city, with alleys, little stores and typical houses, with commerce and all the services needed at the time, of course nowadays these same places have been replaced by museums, hotels, restaurants and <em>souvenirs<\/em> stores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But walk without worries, take time to appreciate the details, and maybe imagine yourselves in another time, living another life, the travels through time our imagination allows are unreal!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Budapeste-76-1.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-24138 size-large\" Templom<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Continuing to walk without a specific direction we crossed paths with the imposing <em>M\u00e1tyas Templom<\/em>, or <em><strong>M\u00e1tyas Church<\/strong><\/em>.<br \/>\nLocated in the heart of the district, it fills the environment with color, from the roof tiles to the painted interior walls.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s the climax of centuries of devotion, with very present changes in each corner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Budapeste-72-1.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-24140 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Budapeste-72-1-684x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"684\" height=\"1024\" constructed between 1255-69 for the German population of Buda, it was constantly altered throughout the centuries, being witness of some of the most important moments in the history of the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Budapeste-67-1.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" as a mosque by the Turkish, suffered a huge remodeling in the XIX century, by the time of the thousandth birthday of the Magyars to town, it was used as a kitchen by the Nazis, and as a stable by the Soviets! This monument, by <em>Frigyes Schulek<\/em>, was added in 1902 to the <em>M\u00e1tyas\u00a0<\/em>Church. It has seven towers, as an homage to the seven magyars tribes that founded the Hungarian Nation.<\/p>\n<p>Its looks give almost a fantasy environment to the place.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s not worthy paying to access the superior terrace, because the views are the same as the inferior terrace, and that one is free!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Budapeste-77-1.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-24146 size-large\" our path along the district until we arrive at the most imposing building of the place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In truth, what we call the <strong><em>Buda Castle<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is the Royal Palace or <em>Kir\u00e1lyi-palota<\/em>, a combination of several buildings, almost all turned into museums.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first style=\"text-align: justify;\">The facade and the dome are by the renowned architects\u00a0<em>Mikl\u00f3s Ybl<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Alajos Hauszmann<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During World War II, the palace took serious damage, like for example, the dome, totally destroyed and had to be rebuilt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a Founded in 1975, emerged during the reformist movement of the XIX century, and keeps a great part of the city&#8217;s treasures, presenting the Hungarian art since the Medieval time until our days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Budapeste-81-1.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-24152 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Budapeste-81-1-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" (approximately 6\u20ac), being that it only covers the entrance to the permanent exhibitions, the temporary ones vary in terms of prices.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As to the <strong><em>History Museum of\u00a0Budapest<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>Budapesti T\u00f6rt\u00e9neti M\u00fazeum,<\/em> it\u00a0portrays the history of the city, from the Medieval Ages till nowadays, including the history of the Castle and the Palace it is inserted on, through scarse remnants of what was the medieval palace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Like the National Gallery, it&#8217;s closed on Mondays, and the ticket costs HUF 2000 (nearly 6.5\u20ac).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Budapeste-86-1.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-24154 size-large\" time to have lunch at the starred <em>Tanti<\/em> (<a title=\"Tanti\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/en\/tanti\/\">see<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By this time you must be asking yourselves where are the famous baths! Budapest is a city without sea, but with a traditon of thermal baths that exceeds every other city! So, you have several options, from which I selected three:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;\u00a0<strong><em>Gell\u00e9rt Gy\u00f3gyf\u00fcrd\u0151<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 at the famous hotel with the same name, these are the most famous in the city, located in the region below the <em>Gell\u00e9rt<\/em> Hill<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0<strong>Kir\u00e1ly Gy\u00f3gyf\u00fcrd\u0151<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; according to the locals, one of the best, not having the usual tourists overflow<br \/>\n&#8211; S<strong>z\u00e9chenyi Gy\u00f3gyf\u00fcrd\u0151<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; located in the park of the city, in the region of <em>V\u00e1rosliget<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We ended our third and last day in Budapest attending the classical music concert at Saint Stephen&#8217;s Basilica (which tickets we bought the day before).<\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t ask for anything else at this moment!
