With sponsorship from Niepoort, we delivered a lovely bottle of <em>2010 Redoma Tinto<\/em>, customized by the Martino &amp; Ja\u00f1a Atelier.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-21.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-21\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-21.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-13.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-13\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-13.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We started with a small cocktail, with an excellent <em>ceviche<\/em> prepared by Camilo Ja\u00f1a and very nicely accompanied by the white wines of Niepoort (<em>2012 Redoma Reserva<\/em> and <em>Niepoort Dry White Port<\/em>) and also by Quinta do Crasto (<em>Crasto Superior<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-17.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-17\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-17.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The presentation of the winners was made by C\u00edntia Oliveira (Flavors &amp; Senses \u2013 Hotels and Travels) and by Pedro Guedes de Almeida (Quinta do Crasto), with Carvalho Ferreira (Niepoort) delivering the prizes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-16.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-16\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-16.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/span><\/a>The excellent<em> Ceviche<\/em> by Chef Camilo Ja\u00f1a (<em>Cafe\u00edna<\/em>, <em>Terra<\/em>, <em>Portarossa<\/em> and <em>Casa Vasco<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-12.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-12\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-12.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/span><\/a>Pedro Guedes de Almeida and C\u00edntia Oliveira while presenting the winners<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This year, for the first time, we distinguished categories like <strong>Revelation Restaurant (best restaurant opening in 2013), being crowned winner the <em>Restaurante Vinium<\/em> from Caves Graham\u2019s<\/strong> in Vila Nova de Gaia. Chef to Watch, intending to award a young chef that despite already doing an excellent job in his kitchen still has a lot to offer in the future. The winner was the 29 year old Chef <strong>Arnaldo Azevedo that commands, nowadays, the kitchen of <em>Restaurante Palco<\/em>, at the Teatro Hotel<\/strong>, one of the most ambitious and creative spaces in town.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-19.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-19\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-19.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #888888;\">The team behind <em>Vinium<\/em>\u2019s success, Revelation Restaurant<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-6.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-6\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-6.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/span><\/a>Arnaldo Azevedo, the young Chef from <em>Restaurante Palco<\/em> (Teatro Hotel), received the Chef to Watch award<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-5.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-5\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-5.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #888888;\">Vasco Mour\u00e3o, Entrepreneur of the Year<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Vasco Mour\u00e3o was the first entrepreneur to receive this award<\/strong>, with more than 20 years in the business his restaurants win the loyalty of clients day after day and his bets result in success after success. One of them is <em><strong>Portarossa<\/strong><\/em>, opened in 2013 in partnership with Gon\u00e7alo Correia dos Santos, with the kitchen in charge of Camilo Ja\u00f1a, is now <strong>the most wanted and successful Italian inspired restaurant in town<\/strong>, therefore the award of <strong>Trendy restaurant<\/strong> wasn&#8217;t a surprise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-1.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-1\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-1.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/span><\/a>Vasco Mour\u00e3o, Gon\u00e7alo Correia dos Santos and Chef Camilo Ja\u00f1a, the team behind the successful <em>Portarossa<\/em> (Trendy Restaurant)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Between the various\u00a0<strong>traditional restaurants in the city, the award\u00a0traveled\u00a0to <em>Ribeira<\/em>, a Tourist area, where <em>Adega S\u00e3o Nicolau<\/em>,<\/strong> for several years now, delights everyone who stops by, in a charismatic environment where the owner\u2019s personality, Ant\u00f3nio Coelho, rivals the food.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-9.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-9\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-9.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/span><\/a>Ant\u00f3nio Coelho, the charismatic owner of <em>Adega S. Nicolau<\/em> (Traditional Restaurant)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-8.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-8\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-8.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/span><\/a>Pedro Lemos took home the Signature Restaurant Award<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After a fleeting passage downtown, namely with the Mega-project <em>Cl\u00e9rigos<\/em>, <strong>Pedro Lemos returned to <em>Foz<\/em>, where he made himself an entrepreneur and created a name. With the return, came back his creative and of personal nature kitchen, taking the Signature Restaurant award<\/strong> to his namesake restaurant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-10.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-10\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-10.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/span><\/a>Carlos Bravo and his <em>Casa de Pasto da Palmeira<\/em> won the category of Wine &amp; Tappas<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Despite the boom of new snacking spaces in town, the title does not escape from <em>Casa de Pasto da Palmeira<\/em><\/strong>, where the young Chef Jo\u00e3o Pupo Lameiras shows some creativity tears in a simple, fun and different cuisine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-22.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-22\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-22.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/span><\/a>Pedro Freitas, representative of <em>Club del Gourmet<\/em> from El Corte Ingl\u00e9s of Gaia receiving the title of Gourmet Store of the Year by the hands of Carvalho Ferreira<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the <strong>gourmet stores, the voters chose the Club Del Gourmet from El Corte Ingl\u00e9s in Gaia<\/strong> as a confidence store, where some of the best products of the world, since preserved foods to wines are present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-4.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-4\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-4.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/span><\/a>Rui Paula\u00a0Paula was the Chef of the Year, here represented by an element of his team<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Rui Paula\u00a0didn&#8217;t\u00a0miss the prize of Chef of the Year,<\/strong>\u00a0one of the most famous and ambitious chefs in town, who puts his heart and soul in every project. With restaurants in Portugal and Brazil, his kitchen rejuvenates in every menu, showing hard work in favor of the Portuguese flavors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-3.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"FSOM2014-3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flavorsandsenses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FSOM2014-3.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #888888;\">S\u00e9rgio Cambas\u00a0took to <em>O Paparico<\/em> the Restaurant of the Year award<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Restaurant of the Year award went to <em>O Paparico<\/em>,<\/strong> another restaurant that invokes Lusitanian memories and flavors. S\u00e9rgio Cambas\u2019 baby grew up from year to year, allying tradition with a modern touch. Also deserves highlight for having one of the best wine lists in town and, of course, an impeccable service.
